T-ARA‘s Ya Ya Ya is a track that’s extremely upbeat and fun, making any Kpop fan want to get up dance! However, in this recent performance, group member JiYeon is seen acting in ways that are quite contradictory to the song’s image. Ya Ya Ya starts at 3:16 in the video below, and immediately you can see that she’s less than enthusiastic about performing. Commenters have said that she looks “tired and frustrated”, which brings up a very good point.
Kpop idols are known for their constant hard work and minimal break time, so assuming her to be exhausted is a very real, and very valid statement. Idols are constantly fulfilling some of the busiest schedules, whether their promoting a new album or focusing on other activties, and many people are complaining that their record companies aren’t giving the talents enough time to rest.
I personally agree. Idols work entirely too hard to not have sufficient rest time. There’s nothing wrong with having a busy schedule, but the appropriate amount of time needs to be provided to allow them to recuperate after a days’ work. If idols continue with their hectic work days without proper rest, we may be hearing about our favorite stars being hospitalized. In fact, it’s already happening; idols have collapsed on stage, and recently too.
I’m just curious on your guys’ thoughts. Do you agree that even idols needed to be treated humanly, and given proper rest? Would you be okay if you stopped seeing your favorite performers appear as often as they did so they could catch up on sleep? Let us know in the comments.
